Businesses in Mumbai have much to look forward to in the coming months. Although the pandemic rigorously tested the resilience of businesses, it ultimately spurred them to pull up their socks and strengthen their game plan against setbacks. Hence, after enduring a gruelling couple of months, markets across all segments are finally registering a swift upturn.
SHOPPING FERVOUR RETURNS
According to a recent survey, retail sales are witnessing a 14 per cent growth from the pre-pandemic levels and 34 per cent year-over-year growth. “Shopping activity is gaining momentum and heralding a prosperous phase for retail. Although fewer people are visiting malls currently than during the pre-covid times, there is a steep rise in their spending. In fact, shoppers are spending not only heartily, but also about three times more than the pre-pandemic levels,” reveals Sachin Dhanawade, COO of a company’s retail and real estate division that operates a mall in Mumbai.
