New Delhi: The CBI on Wednesday filed two FIRs and conducted searches in at least seven locations in four cities even as it initiated an investigation on a network of individuals involved in influencing the outcome of IPL matches based on inputs received from Pakistan. The network is allegedly active since 2013.
The CBI has stumbled upon multiple bank accounts opened on forged documents and fake details for circulating the betting money, which ultimately is routed through hawala channels. Transactions of over Rs 10 crore have been traced, sources said.
