Mumbai: The jumbo centres, which had cut down on operations after cases dipped in the last few months, have been asked to start recruiting manpower and renew wards by the first and second week of January.
Currently, around 9% of the city’s Covid-19 beds are occupied.
After a steady rise in cases and positivity rate for the past few days, Chahal called for a meeting with health department officials and hospital heads, and instructed all concerned to meticulously implement the Covid-19 preventive measures. He issued instructions to ensure immediate supply of oxygen to the hospitals.
The municipal commissioner mentioned that the availability of oxygen should be more than the requirement as per the instructions of the state government.
