Kolkata: While Kohli reached South Africa on Thursday evening, the board president in Kolkata made it clear that he will not make any public statement. “No statements, no press conference. We will deal with it, leave it to (the) BCCI,” he stated before making a hasty departure.
Kohli had said that “I gave the reasons why I wanted to quit T20 captaincy and my viewpoint was received very nicely. There was no offence, no hesitation and not for once was I told that ‘you should not leave T20 captaincy.” However, Ganguly had earlier stated that he had asked Kohli not to step down as T20 skipper.
Ganguly on Tuesday had also cleared the air about Kohli’s participation in the ODI series in South Africa. Attending a function in Kolkata, the former India skipper categorically stated that there is no question of Kohli not playing the ODIs which the batter too confessed during the pre-departure press conference.
