When 29-year-old Bengaluru-based Esha Savla discovered she was pregnant, she would have never imagined bringing baby Aryaveer into a world like the present. Joy and excitement slowly turned into nervousness and anxiety, and not having baby supplies reach her in time for her son’s arrival only added to her list of worries. Being a first-time parent also left her with a lot of questions about the safety of her baby. But with a little bit of faith and a whole lot of teamwork between her and hubby Ankit, she successfully managed to ride the roller-coaster of a journey.
“Delivering my baby in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic will always remain one of the most phenomenal and significant events in my life. I always imagined D-day to be a certain way, but I’d never expected or imagined it would pan out this way. Finding out we were pregnant was such a joyous moment for us, only to be topped by the moment our baby arrived. Although the journey was overwhelming in every possible way, my gynecologist Dr Sowmya Lakshmi and the staff at Aster CMI Hospital have been there for me and my family during the entire process.
“The COVID-19 situation has impacted all of us in some way or another, but as you can imagine, being pregnant with your due date smack in the middle of it all, was terrifying, to say the least. So many of our plans that we looked forward to, all went awry. I wanted to design and decorate my baby’s room and was super excited to undertake this little project. However, things didn’t go to plan – we didn’t get most of our supplies due to the lockdown, and had to rearrange a few things at the last minute.
