There’s nothing as crude as a ‘grip’ on the front of a Leica M! Hold tight, or use a strap.

Leica M lenses are extremely expensive, extremely small and extremely good!

The trademark detachable Leica M baseplate is gone. Instead, you get a regular flip-out battery.

The LCD delivers startlingly rich and deep colours, but tends to make dark tones a solid black.

The menu system is beautifully clear and straightforward to use. Its strength is in its simplicity.

Navigation still requires a physical control pad, although operating it really isn’t difficult.

The ISO dial can’t be turned by accident – you have to pull it up in order to change the setting.

There’s a physical shutter speed dial on the top, but the M11 also has an electronic shutter.

The power lever is around the shutter release, making for a neat, uncluttered top plate.
