"People living their everyday lives fascinate me. I photograph to experience a heightened sense of consciousness, to transport myself deep into another world. Photographing on the street helps me see the extraordinary in the ordinary and helps me more fully experience a place. I'm passionate about documentary photography. I crave encounters, no matter how brief, with people and sharing photos as a way to memorialize those moments. I strive to capture people's spontaneous, un-selfconscious actions in their everyday lives. I agree with Jan Schlegel in this respect: "I found a way to communicate with people from different cultures. It is all about trust, using your eyes, body language, and your very being to exude trust and respect".

These subjects rarely knew that I made an image and worked very closely.
