FACTRICK

1. TIMEOUT

Rumbleverse was originally stated for a 2022 early access launch, but has been pushed back indefinitely.

2 . FIGHT READING

The name of the battle royale genre is taken from a popular Japanese movie, itself based on a book.

3 . UNLIKELY ALLIES

Rumbleverse is published by Epic Games, the company behind the wildly popular Fortnite Battle Royale.

Any battle royale fan will tell you that in a market dominated by blockbuster hits like Fortnite and PUBG, a game’s got to be truly original to stand out from the crowd. Fortunately, from our recent hands-on, it seems Iron Galaxy is preparing a unique indie battle royale that punches well above its weight.

Although the overall battle royale format remains relatively unchanged, the bold choice not to include guns in this free-to-play online fighter introduces unique opportunities for frantic, fast-paced fun. Where well-concealed players armed with powerful sniper rifles are an ever-present annoyance in Rumbleverse’s more conventional contemporaries, Iron Galaxy’s fist-fighting focus necessitates an almost constant barrage of close combat confrontations – for better and for worse.
