IN 2017, a group of supporters honoured the 50th anniversary of Celtic’s 1967 European Cup victory, by cycling 1,300 miles from Celtic Park to the Estadio Nacional in Lisbon. The event, led by supporter Paul Muldoon, raised an incredible total of £73,616.68 for three charities.
Three years later, Paul and a number of the group will be getting back on their bikes in May 2020, to once again raise funds for Celtic FC Foundation, as they now aim to take on The Road to Milan cycle.
May 6, 2020 will mark the 50th anniversary of Celtic’s European Cup final in Milan’s San Siro stadium.
Setting off from Paradise, the cyclists will head for Newcastle and the ferry to Rotterdam, the home of the 1970 cup winners, Feyenoord. The route will then see the group travel through The Netherlands, Belgium and France, before arriving in Italy, for the final leg, from Turin to Milan.
