Contain Russell Wilson
Graham’s defense is going to really be tested in this matchup, as they must figure out how to contain Wilson. The Giants’ front seven has to consistently blitz him in order to have any chance of slowing down the Seahawks’ high-powered offense. Seattle will not be able to get the running game going with Chris Carson if the Giants’ defensive line can successfully put pressure on Wilson. Other teams have been able to do this, as the Dallas Cowboys sacked him four times in Week 3, while the Buffalo Bills also took him down five times in Week 9. Graham needs to call a few different blitz packages in this game. Look for Leonard Williams to be one of the Giants’ “x-factors” in this matchup. Graham will need to rely on Williams to bring a lot of pressure from the outside and make Seattle’s versatile quarterback uncomfortable. If Wilson has time, he will be able to either find an open receiver or escape the pocket and pick up big yardage with his legs.
