Overclockers Renda G3-CS

Verdict

It’s expensive, and aims for graphic design capability via gaming PC parts, but there’s no denying this system’s raw strength

James Archer
Overclockers Renda G3-CS

THE RENDA G3-CS is branded as a ‘graphic design workstation’, which might be a point of contention – workstations are traditionally designed to solve technical problems in an enterprise environment, but with its GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card and consumer grade Intel Coffee Lake chip, this has strong hints of home use and gaming pretensions.

This split focus doesn’t preclude the Renda G3-CS from being a good PC. The GTX 1080 Ti (a factory-overclocked Asus ROG Strix model) brings all of its 11GB of video memory to bear, and the hexa-core, 12-thread Core i7-8700K CPU has also received a speed boost from 3.7GHz to 5.1GHz. Almost as important, from a computer-aided design (CAD) perspective, is the generous 32GB of DDR4 RAM.

HEY BIG RENDA

With a 360mm water-cooling unit taming that huge CPU overclock, the Renda G3-CS put in an impressive performance in our benchmarks. It scored 186 in the image test, 275 in the video test and 329 in the multitasking test. Its overall score of 287 is certainly high enough to juggle multiple process-intensive applications.
