STARDEW VALLEY SUPREMACY

Stardew Valley is definitely one of the most successful and most popular indie games to have come out in the last few years. What started out as a fan-made alternative to Harvest Moon (Back to Nature is definitely one of my ultimate favorite games of all time), the game eventually received financial support and a cult following, paving the way for its release in 2016. By 2020, the game has sold over 10 million copies.

While the last few years have been good for Stardew Valley, 2021 is the year they are finally adding more to the delight of their growing fanbase.

In February 2021, Stardew Valley released its very first board game, and in days, sold out like hotcakes. Because of its success, game developer and publisher ConcernedApe promised that a second run will be available soon.

Just imagine, in this time of peak technology, where almost anyone has access to video games thanks to the growth of mobile gaming and the rising accessibility to gaming PCs and laptops, people are still turning to board games for some fun. This is not just the board game community making a comeback because of the screen fatigue brought by the pandemic. This is mainly the Stardew Valley charm that drew millions of people to the indie game-and now, to its board game counterpart.
