At India Exposition Mart in Greater Noida (1-4 March), 31,000 square metres of space will host over 450 exhibitors and their products from around the world.
As the dates for the 5th edition of DelhiWood 2017, loom near (1-4 March), there is palpable excitement and an air of expectation about the furniture manufacturing industry’s eagerly anticipated international biennial trade show.
The country’s premier woodworking show, to be held at the India Exposition Mart in Greater Noida, will showcase the latest in automated solutions in furniture and wood-based production technologies. This is being done with the aim of helping the industry tap into the US$35-billion domestic furniture market (projected by the year 2020).
Dissemination of latest technologies and awareness of new products is already one of the biggest achievements of the show. This time around, skill development of small furniture manufacturers, carpenters and craftsmen will be actively addressed at the venue in association with the Furniture and Fittings Skills Council (FFSC), under the ‘Skill India’ mission of the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
DelhiWood 2017 is seen as the ideal platform to further this agenda, where the FFSC will conduct a 4-day orientation programme for furniture manufacturers and carpenters.
In addition, the FFSC plans to conduct live skill demonstration and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) sessions for furniture manufacturers and carpenters on all four days of the exhibition.
