Tis the season! Christmas is always special: the warmth that takes over; how lunch segues into the evening, everyone helping themselves to coffee and Champagne; friends and family immersing themselves in the festive spirit... Though I cook round the year, these meals are dearest to me. And it’s quite an elaborate affair, too. So to avoid last-minute panic (or worse, takeout!), here’s how you can plan the party.
WHAT’S FOR LUNCH?
When you think ‘Christmas get-together’, you think ‘hearty meal’. Your close friends and family are coming together to enjoy specially made dishes with their favourite drinks.
To ensure the best time, the first thing you should do is make a guest list of everyone you want around your table. I’d advise sending the invitations at least a month in advance and then chasing the invitees for RSVPs, which are vital to planning a menu.
