One would imagine that a seam piece of material to keep your n your head covered would be as old as the first piece of leather tanned by humans. But it was only in 1991 that Joan Rojas, a Spanish motorcycle enthusiast whose family happened to own a textile factory, thought of something that could protect him from the sun and wind on his rides around Barcelona. He wanted a clothing accessory that was lightweight, comfortable andmulti-functional. After playing around with several prototypes, he eventually patented a seamless microfibre tube known as the “Buff”.
