Taylor Hill Is Taking Over the Catwalks One Step at a Time.

Sophia Serin
Face To Face

A self-confessed Harry Potter fan, Taylor Hill says she was the “opposite of cool” when she was discovered at 14. “I had all this frizzy hair I didn’t know what to do with; I wore my sisters’ hand-me-downs, which I was too tall for, so nothing ever fitted. When this photographer saw me and told me I should model it wasn’t just me who was like, um, really? Even my parents thought – that guy’s insane.”* Hard to believe right? Since then, the schoolgirl has become the one to watch (and beat) on the global style scene. Cruising the catwalks alongside friends Gigi and Kendall, Taylor has recently signed as the newest face of Lancôme's Matte Shaker. Chatting exclusively with EW, Taylor talks family, modeling career and the stereotypes that come along with being a model.

What is the most important thing modelling has taught you?

To be true to yourself. There are a lot of people in the industry – people with completely different lifestyles and opinions – who will try to influence you. Having my own point of view and being myself makes modelling the most enjoyable experience for me.

How do you deal with the judgment and stereotypes that come with being a model?
