It is said that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. And, thank god for it! To mark the occasion of Mother’s Day, we get three stylish kids to pay tribute to their stylish moms, during a tête-à-tête with HAIR. These stylish kids have made a mark and created an impression of themselves in the cutthroat hair and styling industry and gone on to make their stylish moms proud of their achievements

Dhruv Abichandani, Training Ambassador, L’Oréal Professional, has made his mother, Sandhya Chandra, Consultation and Colour Training Expert, proud of every big and small achievement. He fondly remembers how his mom supported him when he decided to become a hairstylist.

The earliest memories of hair and styling with my mom

“She had colored my friend’s and my hair when we were in the ninth grade. And, the teachers got pretty annoyed!”

The biggest and best lesson I have learned from mom

“The most important lesson I have learned from my mom is to never judge anyone. We often have the tendency to hold back our suggestions to a customer based on what they wear or how they talk. But for mom, it is of utmost importance to give the same treatment, consultation, and inputs to every type of client. I am glad I’ve learned this, as it leaves me pleasantly surprised most of the times, with regards to what I hear from the client.”

Better mother or hairstylist?

“She is a mother first, so I have to say that she’s a better mother! That said, she is also one of the finest trainers I have encountered.”

“While she is business-oriented, I am more creatively driven.”
