The Ranakas get real on their new reality TV show
THE Ranakasmay be one of the most famous families in South Africa’s local showbiz, but they are far from being perfect and will not even pretend to be for the cameras on their new reality TV show, The Ranakas, which is a spin-off ofDineo’s Diary.
IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR
Dineo Ranaka is the brains behind the new show, which will feature the whole family. We will see more of her sisters, Mpumi and Manaka, who didn’t have much presence on Dineo’s Diary.
Dineo, who is the executive producer of the show, says it wasn’t hard at all to get her sisters to buy into the idea of being part of it. Nonetheless, she is reluctant to share much about the show. She only shares that the show has a 13-episode contract with Mzansi Magic for now.
“We can get into negotiations for further seasons if we have to,” she assures.
INTERESTING FAMILY DYNAMICS
In an earlier interview with Move!, Dineo’s mother, Siba Ranaka, described her family as fun, loving and sometimes crazy, adding that “like any other family, we fight and we forgive each other.”
