She’s made a career out playing fun-loving Trixie Franklin on Call the Midwife. Now Helen George is looking for a midwife of her own after announcing she’s expecting her second child.
The 37-year-old actress recently took to social media to show off her new pregnancy bump, posting a picture of herself in a floral maxi dress with the words, “Baking number 2. Due in December.”
The Call the Midwife team was also delighted with the news, adding, “People in the production have known for a little while, but we’re all so glad to share the good news with you now!”
Helen and her actor partner Jack Ashton welcomed their first child, daughter Wren, in 2017, and during the pregnancy, the show’s producers did their best to hide the bump.
“You just kind of see me walk across the screen sometimes with odd fashions,” laughs Helen. “Or I’d sit down a lot, or I’m wearing lots of capes. It wasn’t right for Trixie to be pregnant, so we just did our best to cover it up. I just get a bit larger and my boobs get a little bit bigger.”
