It can't really be described as a reconciliation. But the fact Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have been invited to appear at family events as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations is a hopeful sign that work on repairing their rift with the rest of the royals is well underway.
The role Harry and Meghan can play in the June commemorations was discussed when they made a secret visit to the Queen on their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands. Because they are no longer working royals, they can't attend official events like Trooping the Colour during the four-day celebration. But the Queen wants the California-based pair to join the rest of the family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace and at a service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral. That may be the olive branch that starts the reconciliation process.
During a TV interview, Harry was asked about the under-the-radar visit and said it had been great to see his grandmother. The Queen was apparently delighted that her grandson and his wife made the effort to visit her, but imposed one condition before agreeing to the meeting - Harry, 37, had to see his father Prince Charles first.
