Homecoming Queen Hollywood Royalty: Catherine & Michael So In Love!

They’re Still Going Strong After 24 Years Together

Homecoming Queen Hollywood Royalty: Catherine & Michael So In Love!

With her movie star husband on one arm and her debonair teenage son on the other, all eyes were on Catherine ZetaJones when she returned to her hometown of Swansea in Wales recently – Hollywood royalty had come to town!

The 49-year-old actress looked sensational in a fitting red gown with a thigh-high split and the cameras went into overdrive to celebrate the local girl who put their city on the map.

Catherine was home for a special ceremony in which she was granted the Freedom of the City of Swansea, but the adoration of the hometown crowd paled next to the devotion in the eyes of her husband Michael Douglas.

The 74-year-old Hollywood veteran hardly left Catherine’s side as the Chicago actress was fêted. He’s evidently still smitten – when asked recently to sum up his wife in one word, his eyes lit up. “Indescribable,” he said.

Friends of the couple, who tied the knot in a star-studded New York ceremony in 2000, say they’re more in love than ever and are even planning a sumptuous renewal of their vows in Wales next year to mark their 20th wedding anniversary, partly to make up for the fact that Catherine initially wanted to get married in her home country.

But it hasn’t always been this way. No amount of fame and fortune can shield a couple from life challenges, and Michael and Catherine have had their share of heartbreak.

Michael first clapped eyes on Catherine at a film festival in 1995. He was 51 and she was 26 – not that the 25-year age gap put him off.

The Basic Instinct star, who had a reputation as a sex-addicted womaniser, announced to Catherine at a dinner, “I’m going to be the father of your children.”
