Celebrate the season Scandi-style in the city’s Tivoli Gardens, which are strewn with fairy lights and lined with stalls, and feature a daily light show over Tivoli Lake. There are several other markets, including the Julemarked on Højbro Plads in the old town, often referred to as the ‘international Christmas market’. Expect good sausages, glühwein, waffles and sweets. Another can be found on the banks of Nyhavn Canal, where stalls sell dumplings and glögg – a Scandinavian mulled wine.
