What a glorious task it is to pack away the polo necks and retrieve the vests and shorts from their winter hideaway. Or is it?

I got this message from my friend Laura last week: ‘Oh lawd. I’m so fat, even my fat clothes are tight. I must start running again.’

Firstly, let’s all cut ourselves some slack. We were padlocked up in our houses for months with only emotional wounds to lick and packs of annoyingly moreish snacks to munch, so clothes are bound to be tight.
