Friends of the Duchess of Cambridge fear she may now be forced to choose royal duty over her dream of baby number four.
Cracks appear to be showing as Kate tries to juggle the demands of being a mum with her increasingly busy royal schedule.
Just a few weeks back, on her first official overseas tour of the year, the duchess went to great lengths to keep in close contact with the kids – even waking in the middle of the night to Facetime them.
But as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year gets into full swing, Kate and William will have to get used to spending days and even weeks away from their children, something that hasn’t happened before and something, I understand, Kate is less than comfortable with.
Sources close to her have told me how the couple’s recent official tour of the Caribbean came as a ‘wakeup call’ for the duchess.
