Seed potatoes such as ‘Nicola’ or ‘Gemson’ are available in July/early August to plant immediately in the ground or in sacks. When frosts threaten the crop, cover with fleece or take containers undercover on cold nights. Cropping starts in autumn and don’t forget to leave a few to enjoy on Christmas Day!
