HISTORY AND DRAMA
Start your stay with a visit to the newly opened Bath World Heritage Centre (bathworldheritage.org.uk/ worldheritagecentre) to discover the town's history, famous residents and influence. While you're there, download its app (Bath World Heritage app) for details of tours and trails, quirky facts, and a handy GPS map.
For a different take on Georgian Bath, try a Bridgerton walking tour, which takes in many of the locations used in the popular Netflix series. You'll see the elegant residences of key characters, such as Lady Danbury and the Featheringtons, pass by the Modiste dress shop, and learn about the history of the era (£25 per person, bathinsidertours.co.uk).
After all that history, a spot of retail therapy might be in order. Milsom Street is the place to go for high-street names, from Hobbs to House of Fraser. Pop into Portman, an independent boutique specializing in Italian fashion and accessories (nickieportman.co.uk), or head to York Street for renowned bookshop Topping Books (toppingbooks.co.uk).
