Bluebell delights
A bluebell wood in bloom is one of the UK’s great seasonal highlights, and the Woodland Trust has hundreds to visit for free! A carpet of native bluebells indicates ancient woodland, which is one of our most precious habitats, covering just 2% of the country. So, if not this year, then next spring, visit one of these woods to see one of the nation’s stunning spectacles.

Killaloo Wood, Faughan Valley

This beautiful oak wood is nestled into the valley of the River Faughan in Northern Ireland. You may also be lucky enough to spot the rare purple hairstreak butterfly, which is confined to oak wood.

Coed Cefn, Brecon Beacons
