She’s gone from watching TV on Goggle box to landing a presenting job on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Here Scarlett, 27, tells us how she confronted her childhood tormentors, that she suffers from crippling panic attacks and why she’s written her life story
You’ve decided to publish your autobiography. Why did you want to write it?
I wanted to share everything. I hope when people read the book it feels like I am just sitting on their couch chatting away. My mam told me she was so proud of how open I have been.
What really comes across is just how close you are to your family…
My friends don’t hang out with their parents. But your family can be really honest with you. They are always going to be there for you and I love hanging out with them. I love the fact that my little sister will tell me if I’ve got too much fake tan on, or my hair is streaky! My greatest memories are with my family. It was only when I wrote this book that I realised what I take from them and how I am little bits of everyone. I definitely get my sarcasm from my mam and all the facts from my dad.
You speak about suffering from panic attacks, which is surprising given you are always so bright and breezy on television…
