1 Hide or display
Double your living room storage with a coffee table that has built-in drawers and shelves. Keep unsightly clutter tidied away, but display prettier items on the surface or on a shelf underneath.
2 Transform an alcove
Chunky shelves and some lovely baskets is all it takes to create a home for linens and towels. Fix the bottom shelf high enough to fit laundry baskets beneath, or stash a set of steps for reaching the top shelf.
3 Add bed-end storage
Boost bedroom storage with a bank of low cabinets at the end of the bed – great in a study-com bedroom for books and paperwork. Make sure it roughly matches the width of the bed and color of the headboard for a cohesive look.
Havsta Grey two-door cabinets with plinth, £125 each, Ikea; Hive brass T-bar handles, £15.99 each, Dowsing & Reynolds; Amalfi grey velvet king-size bed, £699, Danetti; Hex bedside table, £249, Atkin & Thyme
