What3words
This brilliant idea is becoming increasingly popular. Not every address means a precise location, which is an issue what3words set out to solve. It has divided the whole world into individual 3m sq spaces, and given each of them a unique combination of three words as an address. So it’ll take you directly to the house you’re looking for. More seriously, if you’re lying injured up a mountain or deep in a forest, the system can tell the emergency services exactly where you are.
Free to use, tap on a map square to see its what3words address, which you can share with family and friends. Then get directions using your usual navigation app.
