Stuffed onions

Storing onions in old (but clean) tights can help them last for months – yes, really. Drop an onion into the foot, tie a knot to keep them separate, insert another onion, knot, and so on, until you’ve run out of onions or leg room. Then hang the tights somewhere cool and dark.

It’s a wrap

Put an end to limp veg by wrapping carrots, celery and cucumbers in aluminium foil before storing in the fridge. We don’t know why it works but it does!
