While many people worry about the process of ageing, actress Sally Lindsay embraces it – due to the fact she’s lost family and friends before their time.
The TV star celebrated her 47th birthday last month at a London sushi restaurant with her husband, Steve White, 55, and nine-year-old twin sons, Victor and Louie.
Revealing how she felt, she tells us, ‘I’ve got a few friends that haven’t made it this far, so I celebrate every year I have – I just wish I had another 200!
‘Ageing is ageing, I like that I look the way I do because I should do. So, ageing? I’m just really glad I’m still here.’
One person who isn’t here from Sally’s life is her grandma, who sadly died of dementia when she was just a teenager.
‘My grandma was a very funny, very down-to-earth, very sarcastic, Mancunian woman,’ Sally recalls. ‘She was the matriarch of our family, she sorted things out if anything was going wrong, or if anybody needed anything, and she did a hell of a lot of childcare for my mum, who was working all the time.
