If you’re after a party town, look no further than Madrid. With its two buzzing squares, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, you’re always invited to what’s going on in the Spanish capital.

1 Accommodation

My last visit was fleeting – just 48 hours – so I turned to expedia.co.nz to book my accommodation and sightseeing (via the “activities” option) all in one go. My hotel, Vincci the Mint, on main drag the Gran Vía, was a hit. Check-in is at the bar and includes a non-alcoholic shot, plus there’s a fabulous rooftop bar with a quirky caravan serving drinks in the evening. The rooms are big and gorgeous with, for once, hooks to hang things on and enough light to see what’s in your suitcase.
