5 Road Trip Stops In The States

Is there a more iconic way to travel in the States than by putting the top down and hitting the road? Well, my husband Kip and I didn’t have a convertible, but we hopped into our trusty Dodge van and took a two week journey from Houston to Las Vegas, visiting some of the best man-made and natural sights the US has to offer.

1 Houston

Our road trip began in this southern city of sprawling 10-lane highways and giant high-rises. We stopped to visit the Rothko Chapel, a small nondenominational chapel. Its walls are lined with 14 black-hued paintings by artist Mark Rothko – incredible modern art not to be missed. For a delicious meal that combines the traditional flavours of Texas with the South East Asian influences of recent immigrants, we visited Crawfish & Noodle. And any trip to Houston wouldn’t be complete without seeing the NASA Space Centre.
