‘I can’t wait to get the gang back together and have a party’

More than a year after the emotional finale, Westside will take its last bow at the New Zealand Television Awards next March, with Antonia Prebble hotly tipped to win Best Actress.

“Playing Rita West has been an absolute career highlight, so being nominated for our final season, as we close the book and say goodbye to the Wests for good, means so much to me,” the star tells Woman’s Day. “I also can’t wait to get the gang back together and have a party at the awards! I miss everyone so much and it feels like a wonderful antidote to our months in lockdown this year.”

Antonia, 37, previously won Best Actress for Westside in 2018, while pregnant with her son Freddie, and recently gave birth to a second baby boy named Gus. Her nomination – alongside Rima Te Wiata for The Tender Trap and Grace Palmer for Good Grief – comes the same week it was announced her fiancé and Westside co-star Dan Musgrove had won an International Emmy Award for the acclaimed Kiwi drama INSiDE.
