It was a three-day party for the happy couple
Less than two years ago, screen heartthrob Idris Elba swore black and blue he’d never again put a ring on it – but all that was forgotten last week when the Luther star said “I do” to his beauty queen Sabrina Dhowre.
The champagne flowed, guests twerked and the groom rapped as the newlyweds celebrated their love with a lavish three-day extravaganza in Marrakesh, Morocco.
Idris – who was last year crowned People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive – and model Sabrina kicked off their nuptials with a pre-wedding Colours of the Souk-themed dinner at the swanky Amanjena resort.
The following day, Sabrina, 29, in a Vera Wang A-line gown and Idris exchanged vows at the exclusive Ksar Char-Bagh hotel and, after the reception, festivities moved on to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, where the wedding party let loose!
“It was everything you could wish for,” tells an insider. “Guests had shots, cocktails and endless champagne. The dance floor was full all night.”
Amid the hilarity, shoe designer Christian Louboutin, 56, surprised everyone by breaking into a twerk and Idris then rapped along to Brit star Stormzy’s new track “Vossi Bop” while his bride danced alongside him.
The following evening, guests were treated to an all-white party. Adds the insider, “Idris and Sabrina were the perfect hosts and were happy to cuddle up on the dance floor.”
