The biggest event on the international level.
A sport of strength, might and grit; powerlifting is recognised worldwide and duly respected in India. If there is any reason why the sport of powerlifting is recognized worldwide and given immense respect in our country also, it is because of continuous efforts and devotion by its passionate lovers and players. Known as an iron game, powerlifting actually takes test of your strength and a complete regimen of physical and mental strength that focus on pushing yourself beyond limits.
In India, the apex body for powerlifters and for the sport’s regulation is Indian Powerlifting Federation (IPF). Functioning since 1975, IPF is at present having more than 10,000 associated powerlifters including both men and women across the states of India. The IPF is duly recognised by the Government of India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports since 1979 as well as The Indian Olympic Association. The Federation is supported by 37 affiliated state associations and six central government office board units also. It lives with the motto to improve health by doing iron games. The championship events organised by the IPF are of various ranges, naming Junior National, Senior National, Master National, Benchpress National, Deadlift National, East West South and North Championships and Federation Cup.
