They shouldered the responsibility of bringing Mother Nature into the abode and maintaining the biodiversity. It was all about reconnecting with nature.

When one designs a sustainable home, it means lowering the negative impact on the environment. It means using materials from nature without harnessing the ecosystem. Sustainable living is all about co-living and coexisting with wilderness. Increased carbon footprints impact the natural environment negatively. The architect's responsibility is to acknowledge the inbuilt sustainability of Indian homes and work around the appropriate and scientific placement already in place. There should be a focus on security, health, self-sufficiency and happy living.

Ar. Ramane feels architects need to take advantage of the natural offerings and use it in architecture & urban design. It is giving back to nature. Such buildings also keep the atmosphere cool inside in every weather. The naturefriendly or sustainable design takes us back to our roots.
