Moved by a scientific curiosity in fingerprint identity methods of recognition and on the axiomatic value of photography, my intention within my work is to create a series that engenders an experience of both the capacities of biometrics and art photography.
- Gloria Marco Munuera
I wondered who I was. This project features the real identity of an individual that may lie on the imprint of the skin, not in its color, neither on the structure of our heads.
It also aims to contribute to an increase in respect for cultural diversity while highlighting individual identity within our common biological heritage.
The title refers to the fleeting nature of the individual and the durability of our essence. The allegory derives from the emotional connection between the ashes of a body and their plasticity to model portraits.
"I am a fine art photographer who uses traditional, digital, and alternative techniques within photography.
I am particularly interested in creating photographic images that cannot be reproduced as a technological means without having a negative from which to make copies. This way, my work, even being photographically nature-based, becomes a kind and original painting.
Moved by a scientific curiosity in fingerprint identity methods of recognition and on the axiomatic value of photography, my intention within my work is to create a series that engenders an experience of both the capacities of biometrics and art photography.
