Ever since it was launched two years ago, the EQB has been a strange proposition in the EV space. It is the only proper electric SUV in its price point with its rivals being crossovers, especially if you consider that it is the only one with three-rows. But it hasn’t resulted in the sales figures, so now there is an update which only gets two rows in its 350 variant.
The major change to the EQB is at the nose, which now follows the same three-pointed star theme on a fully blanked-out panel as other EQ models. And as this car gets the AMG Line exterior package, you get a new bumper with two slim openings. Over on the side, the EQB rides on new 10-spoke AMG design alloys.
At the rear you get the same full-width LED strip, but the tail lamp lighting elements have been reprofiled. The lower bumper is also different. While the visual update isn’t major, it makes quite the difference in making the EQB look part of the EQ family.
You step inside, and the star-pattern has been continued here as well - on the dashboard and the door panels, which is backlit. Also new for the EQB is the three-spoke touch-capacitive steering. The twin 10.25-inch displays are the same as before, but run the latest MBUX, while the central console has been repurposed and only houses the drive mode and volume selector.
As is the norm, the EQB comes loaded to the gills with comfort and convenience features including wireless smartphone integration, powered front seats, HUD, Burmester audio, dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, and ADAS with Active Brake Assist and Blind Spot Assist. And you also get a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
