Embarking on a short drive in the recently tweaked E Isuzu mu-X LSE 4x4, I soon found memories flooding back, evoking a sense of nostalgia and anticipation. This vehicle, known for its rugged, yet comfortable design, had already been a steadfast companion for me on countless adventures, as the previous model served as a long termer in CAR's fleet.
Welcomed by soft upholstery and pressing the start button, the engine roared to life, its deep rumble resonated, summoning happy memories of traversing challenging terrain, conquering muddy trails, and venturing into the unknown. Although we were unable to take the facelifted model off-road on its brief launch drive, the anticipation of its inherent capabilities still lingers.
The mu-X's sturdy frame, like a trusted friend, exudes a sense of security and confidence. As we ventured into the bustling city of Johannesburg, it effortlessly tackled Jozi's infamous potholes and uneven roads. Although its suspension may not be as refined as that of the new Ford Everest, it admirably absorbed every bump and dip, making for a comfortable and composed ride.
