Over the years I have owned and used different types of cookers, each has its pros and cons, but for me the multi-fuel stoves make so much more sense for motorbike use. I have got rid of everything else and now just use petrol stoves, of which I have two - an antique Optimus 8R and an MSR Dragonfly. If I am just going for a run out for an afternoon and want a coffee stop en-route, I take a flask of boiling water and the means to make a mug of tea or coffee. For a full day out, when I want to cook in a remote location, the 8R is compact, contained in its own tin box and perfectly suited to the job. For extended camping trips the MSR is a heavier duty appliance, designed for expedition mountaineering - it is faster because it has a larger, more controllable burner.
