INTRODUCED IN 1977 (as a ’78 model year) after it’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the Wolfgang Möbius styled Porsche 928 was intended to replace the 911 and take the mantle of Porsche’s flagship model. However, proposed 911 ending USA regulations never eventuated, allowing Porsche to maintain the 911’s production and its position.
