It is getting warmer but there are plenty of nice mornings when you need a light jacket to cross the marsh. We still are on Black Drum and Redfish. The days the tide is out we have been using the airboats to get into some hard-to-reach places for spawning trout.
School should be letting out soon for the summer, so definitely time to start gearing up the airboats for the Summer Ride and Slide Events. Check out the events pages in this magazine to find the ones scheduled for the rest of the year. We have several in Texas that are a ton of fun. The hometown event is the Port O’Connor Ride and Slide. There is also the one hosted in Port Lavaca and another one that is a great time is the one in Anahuac.
We usually can’t make it to the out of state events because that would require re-doing trailer bearings and hubs, possibly even buying new axles and that would cost the amount of the weekend trip. Not to mention having to make sure the trailer tags are not expired, and who knows what ditch I lost my license plates in. I used all my warnings up the other night.

Poker Run to Help a Friend
A few of my friends reached out to me, the manager at Jolly Gator Fish Camp, needing help to raise money for Eddie aka \"Peanut\" Scott for a kidney transplant. We jumped into action. With not much time, we planned an airboat poker run for October 5, 2024.
