IPL 2024 - THE NATIONAL FESTIVAL OF INDIA

The Fans of Cricket couldn’t be happier to witness a franchise than IPL (Indian Premier League). With it set to return this week on 22nd March, 2024, fans are eager to watch their favorite players play against each other with the sound of audience’ chanting reverberating in the open stadiums of India.

It is probably the most popular and fan-loved cricket tournament, which has gained such huge popularity in a few years. With the Women’s Premier League (WPL) ending on 17th March, 2024 and the beginning of IPL on 22nd March, 2024, fans of cricket were and are pretty occupied for a few months.

The 17th Season of the T20 league, IPL 2024, will begin on March 22 at 08:00 PM IST with the two iconic teams competing for the first win of the tournament: CSK (Chennai Super Kings) led by MS Dhoni and RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) led by Faf Du Plessis in M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The tournament will be held for approximately 2 months. Last month, organisers announced a partial schedule for the first 21 fixtures until April 7 as the dates of India’s upcoming general election had not been announced at the time. The election schedule was announced last week, with the polls running from April 19 to June 4, and IPL organisers are expected to release the dates of the remaining fixtures in the next few days. Day games will begin at 3:30pm local time (10:00 GMT) and night games will begin at 7:30pm local time (14:00 GMT). 

The IPL launched as an eight-team tournament in 2008, but the configuration has changed on multiple occasions as franchises were suspended (on corruption charges)], dropped from the tournament or renamed. However, this will be the third consecutive season that the same 10 teams make up the league. They are:
