TERROR ATTACKS

While everything was supposed to be calm and pleasant, a terror attack happened

Eid was near and everyone were in happy mood for celebrations. But, it seems that the residents of Sagiote village in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district will not be in an environment to celebrate Eid this year. In an unfortunate incident, one of the ill-fated army trucks was ambushed on Apr 20, 2023 in this village. The vehicle was carrying fruits and other items for an iftar gathering meant to be held in Sagiote later that evening. According to locals, invitations had gone out to several people in the village of 4000 for the event at 7PM that day. All the necessary arangements were being taked by the Rashtriya Rifles Unit.The truck was carrying materials from the RR headquarters at Basooni in Balakote, and had picked up more items en route from Bhimber Gali area, where the RR has a significant presence owing to movement of Army convoys between Poonch and Rajouri.
