You have spent over a decade in music and entertainment industries across India and abroad. How has the discussion around pay disparity evolved during this period?
I am just glad that the conversation has started. Although I have not yet experienced pay parity, there is a growing awareness about it today. This increased awareness gives me hope that we will see real change in the coming years, and that this important issue will continue to gain momentum.
South Indian cinema has managed to tap into a bigger market in the past few years. What do you make of this trend?
I prefer to call it Indian cinema, as our industry is more unified today. With the advent of OTT platforms, audiences have access to a wide variety of titles from all regions. High-quality films are being produced across the country, and it is fantastic that audiences everywhere can now enjoy them. It is an exciting time to be part of the film industry.
Recently, you mentioned working on a writing project that will get published soon. Can you tell us more about it?
Writing has always been one of my deepest passions. I started writing even before I began acting and singing. It is such a powerful form of self-expression for me. I am working on a project that I hope will be published by the end of the year.
