Food is something Restaurateur and Entrepreneur Rakshay Dhariwal was extremely passionate about since a young age. Having lived all over the world - in the US, Europe, South East Asia, South Africa, and of course India, he got great exposure to different cuisines and varied cultural nuances of how food was prepared and served. “There is no greater joy for me than seeing happy customers in my restaurants. Their happiness and good wishes is a real blessing for me,” he happily shared. Rakshay owns Passcode Hospitality that operate brands like Jamun, PCO, Pistola and Ping’s, to name a few. Recently, he spoke at length with Retailer about his latest ventures in restaurant and his innovation in the beverages space.
Your portfolio as an entrepreneur includes verticals in F&B, events, boutique hotels, and craft spirits. How has it been for you?
• All our businesses are interrelated and sister ventures. The industry is predominantly the same. You’re always dealing with the same people, so although they are different verticals, a lot of my senior management work on all three of these verticals, which makes life a lot easier.
You launched the first speakeasy-styled bar PCO in India, and expanded it to different cities. How do you see the growth of such kinds of bars and segments?
