Capt Pradeep Chawla
CEO and Founder Maritime Knowledge Ltd.
I retired on 30th June 2023 from the position of Managing Director, Group QHSE, and Training at Anglo-Eastern Ship Management after 31 years of dedicated service. Earlier this week, I have taken over a company and am the newly appointed CEO of MarinePALS and founder of Maritime Knowledge Ltd. As industry veterans are aware I have an extensive background in Education Technology.
During my tenure, I was fortunate to have played a crucial role in establishing the Anglo-Eastern Maritime Academy, training 480 cadets annually in Deck, Engine, and Electro-Technical Officer programs. Additionally, we set up training centers in prominent maritime hubs such as Mumbai, Delhi, Manila, Odessa, and Shenzhen.
As a pioneer in adopting e-learning, we introduced the Online Learning Management System in 2006. Recognizing the importance of simulator training, we implemented it as early as 1995, and in 2015, I spearheaded the adoption of Virtual Reality training. With my experience as the head of Quality Assurance for a fleet of 680 ships and a crew pool of over 30,000 seafarers, I possess frontline experience of what it takes to train seafarers effectively and prevent harm to people, the environment, property, and company reputation.
Furthermore, I serve as the Chairman of GlobalMET, an association of training centers worldwide that holds a seat in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as a non-governmental organization. I have actively contributed to various industry associations, including Intertanko, Nautical Institute, BIMCO, Standard P and I Club, and the Hong Kong Shipping Consultative Committee. With a passion for safety and accident prevention through education and training, I am committed to making a positive impact on the maritime industry.
