Lara Dutta, known for her versatility on screen, recently delved into a project that resonates deeply with her roots and personal history. With a family background steeped in the Indian Air Force, Lara had a unique perspective on the events surrounding the Balakot airstrike of February 2019. As she took on the role of Manisha Sehgal in the series Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond, Lara found herself immersed in a narrative that not only captured the intricacies of political decisions but also echoed her own familial discussions and insights. Her portrayal in the series not only reflects her passion for storytelling but also a profound connection to the patriotic fervour that defined her experience on set. In this exclusive interview, Lara shares her journey into the series, the impact it had on her, and her reflections on a career that continues to evolve. Excerpts:
Would you say you feel the most challenged as an actor in this phase of your career?
I believe this is only the tip of the iceberg. There's some incredible stuff on offer, and I'm constantly amazed by the opportunities coming my way. The roles I’m getting to play, the stories I’m a part of, and the people I’m working with are all contributing to this extraordinary experience. Each project seems more exciting than the last, and it’s pushing me to grow and challenge myself in new ways. I’m just having the best time of my life right now, fully embracing every moment and looking forward to what the future holds.
How far would you say you’ve come in handling criticisms and rejections in this profession?
